How to Run Effective Board Meetings
Board meeting leaders were struggling to collect feedback from board members after meetings. When leaders were able to get responses, the feedback was difficult to analyze efficiently and was rarely actionable.
My Role

Goal
How might board leaders gather actionable, accurate, and timely feedback from their meeting attendees to improve overall board performance and participant satisfaction.
Results
Increased total number of board leaders gathering feedback.
Increased feedback gathered by 3X.
Through actionable feedback gathered, board leaders were able to improve attendee satisfaction by over 50%.
From early interviews, we learned board leaders found it most challenging to interact with meeting attendees after meetings, leading to low engagement when soliciting feedback.
Quantifiable feedback for both positive and negative experiences with board meetings allowed leaders to quickly take action.
Prompting meeting attendees at the ideal moment, just as the meeting was ending, allowed board members to collect 3X more feedback than they previously had when soliciting feedback as a follow up.
What does ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ mean to you?
By providing a simple yes or no question to meeting attendees to gauge meeting effectiveness, we did not rely on all members having the same interpretation of what 4 stars means or what a 7 on a scale from 1 to 10 means.
This allowed meeting leaders to gather valuable and actionable feedback from their meeting attendees and improve attendee satisfaction by over 50%.
